The Power of Just BEing

Are you someone who is constantly doing? Always on the go, always busy with something? If so, you're not alone. In today's society, it's easy to get caught up in the doing and forget about the BEing. I'm a results-focused Queen Bee and am great at getting things done and making things happen - I spend a lot of time in "doing" mode.

But what if I told you that shifting your focus from doing to BEing could be one of the best things you could do for yourself? It certainly was for me.  I'm still focused on results, but the way I get there now is quite different to the way I used to operate - constantly being busy.

When you're always in "doing" mode, you're operating from a masculine energy. This energy is focused on action, results and achievement. While there's nothing wrong with this energy per se, it can lead to problems when it's the only energy you're operating from.

Too much masculine energy can lead to burnout, anxiety and stress and feeling like you'll never get to the end of your to-do-list or achieve the standard you have set. It can also lead to feelings of disconnectedness and disconnection from your true self.

When you shift your focus to BEing, you're operating from a more feminine energy. This energy is focused on flow, intuition and feeling. It's a more receptive energy that allows you to be in the moment and connect with your true nature.  Feminine energy is all about the nurturing traits of connecting with yourself and other people in a meaningful and fulfilling way. It's compassionate, kind, empathetic, patient and emotional. It's about embracing your intuition and creativity. Feminine energy is fluid and free. And you can definitely still get things done and make things happen from this energy space.

The benefits of moving from doing to BEing are numerous. When you operate from a place of BEing, you're more likely to experience:

  • A sense of peace and calm
  • Greater clarity and direction
  • Improved relationships
  • More creativity and flow
  • Greater connection with your true self

If you're ready to make the shift from doing to BEing, here are some practical tips to help you get started:

1. Make time for yourself

This is one of the most important things you can do if you want to shift your focus to BEing. Dedicate some time each day to just being with yourself, without doing anything. This could be sitting in silence, meditating, journaling or just taking a walk in nature.

2. Listen to your intuition

When you're used to operating from a place of doing, it can be difficult to listen to your intuition. But learning to trust your gut instinct is crucial if you want to move from doing to BEing. Start by paying attention to any small nudges or signs from your intuition and act on them.

3. Let go of control

When you're in "doing" mode, it's easy to try and control everything. But when you're focused on BEing, you need to learn to let go of control and allow things to flow. This doesn't mean that you don't have any goals or direction, but it does mean learning to go with the flow and trust that things will work out as they're meant to. This was a biggie for me.  It almost felt counter-intuitive - the more control I relinquished, and the more I let things unfold naturally, the better the results were; and they came with so much ease and grace, not the strangle-hold I once had on them.

4. Nourish your body

When you're in "BEing" mode, it's important to take care of your body. Nourish it with healthy food, plenty of water and exercise. This will help you to feel more grounded and connected to your body, which is an important part of BEing.

5. Nourish your mind

The mind is very active in "doing" mode.  Whilst many people like operating from the head, it is good to be gentle with your mind and allow time for rest and rejuvenation.  This doesn't mean turning your thinking off completely, but it does mean giving your mind the appropriate rest.  Make sure you're not always in 'thinking' mode, especially not over-thinking things, by taking breaks and getting plenty of sleep.  Mindfulness and relaxation practices are great for resting your mind.  Also be mindful of what you are putting into your mind - what are you telling yourself?  What are you thinking?  Be conscious to think kind and caring thoughts to help shift from masculine, doing energy to feminine, BEing energy.

6. Connect with nature

One of the best ways to connect with your feminine energy is by spending time in nature. Spend time outside in the sun, fresh air and nature, and allow yourself to just be.  This is also a great way to quieten the mind and tap into your intuition and heart-space, which is connected to the feminine, BEing energy.

When your masculine and feminine energies are in balance, there is harmony. That's the goal - to be in harmony.  Moving from doing to BEing requires you to let go of the need to constantly be doing something. It means making space for stillness, for reflection, and for simply enjoying the moment. When you make this shift, you open yourself up to greater creativity, peace of mind, and overall satisfaction with life. You also become more present and available for relationships and for enjoying the simple things in life. Give it a try - you may just find that it's the best thing you ever did for yourself!  It certainly was for me.

As always, hugs & happiness
